So, you've been sent a link to this website. Why? Probably because your question looked a bit like this:
Can someone please help me?
As it turns out, this is not a great way to ask for help. What you are actually asking is:
Is there anyone who is willing to help me out, whatever it is I need - maybe quantum mechanics, maybe a Java problem - and if so ask me what I need, instead of me asking the question?
There are a lot of people who would likely want to help you out,
but are annoyed or discouraged
by your means of asking for help. On another note, most people would not admit to having general
knowledge about a variety of things, with which they could help you out. You're unconsciously
questioning someone's confidence about what they know. As a result
you slow down your desired support.
Alternatively, the question can be seen as:
I have a question about Java but I'm too lazy to actually tell what it's about unless there's someone on the channel who might have the knowledge to answer it.
Let's be real, that's just lazy. If you are not even taking the time to phrase your question, why should
we take the time to help you?
So don't ask for help,
just ask your question. Someone who is idling on the
channel and only every now and then glances at what's going on is unlikely to answer to your "pls help
mee" question, but your actual problem description may pique their interest and get them to answer.
So, to summarize, don't say "Can someone please help me?", but rather
ask "How do I do [problem] with Java and [other relevant info]?".
